La Semana Alegre is back for another Fiesta season on May 1st & 2nd! Celebrate the completion of Civic Park at Hemisfair with a full-out pachanga, packed with two nights of live music, local fare, cold drinks, and an art market. This year, general admission is FREE with RSVP, or upgrade your experience to VIP!
Dating back to the early 1970s, La Semana Alegre was once a week-long musical celebration during Fiesta until the 1990s when it went into its 30-year slumber. Now back for the second year in a row, this year's lineup features veteran Semana Alegre acts like Joe "King" Carrasco and Legs Diamond, while also highlighting local gems such as Garrett T Capps and his band, Nasa Country, and Vanita Leo, a rising star in the Cumbia genre. Other featured acts include the 4-piece femme punk group of Austin, Die Spitz; the soulful Chicano crooners Los Yesterdays, and many more. Read on for ticket info and a full lineup for each fest day!
