at Germania Insurance Amphitheater

After 18 years away from the stage, pop star, icon, and influencer of an entire generation of millennials, Hilary Duff, returns to the spotlight with The Lucky Me Tour.

Do me a favor and imagine the color pink. Now imagine an outdoor amphitheater set within the winding track of the Circuit of the Americas, filled with thousands and thousands of people dressed head to toe in pink. An incredible sight to witness if I'm being honest. I've honestly never seen anything like it.

The lawn was packed to the brim with eager fans, and the lower bowl was nothing different. Littered amongst the various shades of pink, dedicated fans donned outfits that perfectly encapsulated Duff's early acting career, from pink aprons and tutus (A Cinderella Story), to a gaggle of Ungermeyer's in black bobs and a wired headset (The Lizzie McGuire Movie), to a group of grown men in blond wigs and pink tank tops á la animated Lizzie McGuire. These fans were ready to relive their childhood, and relive it they did. With a setlist that pulled from former albums and some of her newer work, it was a night of hits, bops, and tear-jerkers.

Joined earlier in the evening by Jade LeMac and La Roux (yes, Ms. Bulletproof), what quickly started as a sweaty afternoon chilled out into a cooler evening. Sending many thanks to that mid-summer Texas breeze that put in work. Overall, the evening was incredible, despite bathroom lines growing as the night progressed. I'm happy to say that Hilary Duff is back, and in a big way. Here's to millennials that never let go of their past, this show was truly for us.
