San Antonio is full of ways to get active, no matter which sport you’re interested in. From football and basketball to pickleball and cornhole, there are plenty of ways to play some games and meet new friends here in the city and beyond. Check out this guide to see some of the best rec league options around the city!

Texas Pickle Hall

Pick up a paddle and head on down to this 28,700-square-foot climate-controlled pickleball facility to join your next league. Texas Pickle Hall offers leagues organized by skill level, including a consistent standings and progression system. That’s far from all the hall has to offer, too. There’s a pro shop, outdoor bar and regular open play time to test your skills before jumping into a league. Plus, once you’re dinking like a pro, you can even take part in a tournament. In other words, this is a premier pickleball option in San Antonio.


San Antonio Sports & Social Club

San Antonio Sports & Social Club is one of the most expansive adult rec league providers Alamo City has to offer. San Antonio SSC offers quite a collection of co-ed sports for all skill levels, including basketball, kickball, cornhole, flag football, volleyball, pickleball and soccer. There are plenty of options for each sport as well, with multiple league sizes and locations available. With weekend tournaments and field days on deck as well, there’s no shortage of ways to compete in some friendly athletics competitions through San Antonio Sports & Social Club


Sideliners Grill

Swing by Sideliners Grill to join one of their regular sand volleyball leagues. From beginners to advanced players, there are league options for every skill level at Sideliners. League play happens year-round, so you can jump in almost anytime. Open play is also available 7-days a week between tournaments and league play, giving you the chance to hone your skills after grabbing a bite and drink with friends.


Sportskind

Sportskind has a truly expansive selection of sports to choose from, making them another premier multi-sport option in San Antonio. Basketball, cornhole, volleyball, softball, soccer, e-sports and more comprise Sportskind’s extensive offerings. Leagues take place all around the city, too, ensuring there’s an option that won’t have you driving across an hour’s worth of workday traffic just to get to the other end of the city. With 20,000 participants and counting, Sportskind gives San Antonio residents a great way to stay active and social.


YMCA of Greater San Antonio

Head to your local YMCA to take part in some superb adult fall sports leagues. Four different area YMCAs offer fall co-ed adult sports for those 18-and-up, including basketball, volleyball, soccer and softball depending on the location. Silly Pickles

Looking to make some friends while playing some pickleball this season? Silly Pickles offers dynamic leagues that pair you with players of your skill level while promoting camaraderie through league social events. It’s a great way to meet new people, build your skills and have some fun throughout the season.


Pride Sports San Antonio

This nationwide rec league provider is built for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. Founded in Austin back in 2017, it’s since expanded to numerous cities with league options available for all sorts of sports. Pride Sports San Antonio currently offers pickleball and cornhole leagues in San Antonio. Pride Sports San Antonio supports players of any skill level, too, making it a great 21+ rec league choice in the city.


Platinum Sports San Antonio

Platinum Sports is a nonprofit that offers regular men’s, women’s and co-ed indoor volleyball leagues here in the city. Platinum provides players with the opportunity to join as a team or a free agent, giving you different options to get in the game. Plus, there’s regular single-day tournaments throughout the year that will players another chance to test their skills.


San Antonio Parks & Recreation

Parks and Recreation offers plenty of league options for kids, but don’t count them out when it comes to adult league offerings, either. The department currently facilitates adult kickball leagues as well as boxing opportunities through the San Fernando Boxing Club. There’s also regular open-court availability on the city’s more than 140 public tennis courts for organizing a league of your own.
