SAMA, located in a historic brewery along the Museum Reach stretch of the River Walk, offers thousands of years of art, people, and culture from collection of Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities, Asian art, Latin American art, contemporary art, and American Paintings. Free for Bexar County residents on Tuesdays from 4-7 pm and/or on Sundays from 10 am-12 pm.

The Briscoe, another museum located on the River Walk, explores the vibrant culture and heritage of the Western United States. Including a permanent collection of art and artifacts related to the American cowboy, American Indian, the Vaquero, pioneering women, plus the many diverse groups who forged the American West. Free for Bexar County residents on every first Sunday of each month.

Did you know the McNay was Texas' first modern art museum when it opened in 1954? Visitors can enjoy works by modern masters, plus sculptures throughout the 25 acres of landscape. Free on Thursdays from 4-9 pm and on the first Sunday of each month from Noon-5 pm.

The evolving collection features a community-driven of digitized and audiovisual exhibits, available in-person and online. The contemporary art center on Camp Street includes three public spaces for visitors to enjoy: Ruby City, Chris Park, and the Studio.
