San Antonio Museum of Art

200 West Jones Ave, San Antonio, TX 78215

SAMA, located in a historic brewery along the Museum Reach stretch of the River Walk, offers thousands of years of art, people, and culture from collection of Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities, Asian art, Latin American art, contemporary art, and American Paintings. Free for Bexar County residents on Tuesdays from 4-7 pm and/or on Sundays from 10 am-12 pm.

Briscoe Western Art Museum

210 W Market St, San Antonio, TX 78205
The Briscoe, another museum located on the River Walk, explores the vibrant culture and heritage of the Western United States. Including a permanent collection of art and artifacts related to the American cowboy, American Indian, the Vaquero, pioneering women, plus the many diverse groups who forged the American West. Free for Bexar County residents on every first Sunday of each month.

The DoSeum

The DoSeum is an interactive, hands-on learning museum complete with exhibits, programs, camps, classes, and field trips designed for all kinds of learners. Free Family Night has moved to the first Monday of each month, RSVP required.

Witte Museum

The Witte Museum is located between the ancient San Antonio River and historic Broadway, a bountiful riverside campus with large and open galleries, where Nature, Science and Culture meet through the lens of what we call Texas Deep Time and the themes of Land, Sky and Water. Free on Tuesdays for Bexar County residents from 3 to 6 p.m.

McNay Art Museum

Did you know the McNay was Texas' first modern art museum when it opened in 1954? Visitors can enjoy works by modern masters, plus sculptures throughout the 25 acres of landscape. Free on Thursdays from 4-9 pm and on the first Sunday of each month from Noon-5 pm.

San Antonio African American Community Archive & Museum

The SAAACAM is working to uncover the untold history of the city's African American descendants who helped build and contributed to our region. The evolving collection features a community-driven of digitized and audiovisual exhibits, available in-person and online. Ruby City

The contemporary art center on Camp Street includes three public spaces for visitors to enjoy: Ruby City, Chris Park, and the Studio. Each space includes artworks by both local and internationally-acclaimed artists. All exhibitions and events are free and open to the public. Always free; book an appointment Thur-Sun: 10 am - 6 pm.

San Antonio Fire Museum

Filled with antique fire trucks and fire-fighting equipment, artifacts dating back to the mid-1800s, and beautifully archived documents and photos.  Bexar County individual residents and families can enjoy free general admission every first Tuesday of the month from 11am-2pm. Admission is limited and requires a reservation!
