Pools and Splash Pads in San Antonio

UPDATE (5/19): The City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department announces the opening of six preseason outdoor pools on Saturday, May 24, 2025. These locations will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 7 p.m.

All preseason pools will also be open on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2025, from 1 to 7 p.m.

Preseason outdoor pool locations are:

  • Dellview - 500 Basswood Dr.
  • Fairchild – 1214 E. Crockett St.
  • Kingsborough – 350 Felps St.
  • Lady Bird Johnson - 10700 Nacogdoches Rd.
  • Westwood Village – 7627 W. Military Dr.
  • Woodlawn Lake - 221 Alexander Ave.

**The pools are free to the public. Appropriate swimwear is required. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. City splash pads are open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and are free to the public. For more information visit SanAntonio.gov/Parks.

Aka the $5 spot - a quick 30-minute drive to a 23-mile stretch of Hill Country serenity. (Mon-Thurs: 10am-8pm, Fri-Sun: 9am-8pm; cash only)

• Frio River Private Access (19683 TX-127, Concan, TX 78838)

A private sliver of paradise that only lets in 30 guests max per day. (10am-7pm; $35-$50) 

Vista Hermosa Park (13436 IH 35 South Von Ormy, TX 78073)

First opened in 1934 by the Ruiz family, this private park offers Medina River access and relaxation. Plus a playground and picnic area. (Tues-Fri: 1-7:30PM, Sat-Sun: 10AM-7:30PM, Free-$5)

Landa Falls (133 Landa St, New Braunfels, TX 78130)

The longest float on the Comal! Grab your tube (or rent one on arrival) for a relaxing stretch of Hill Country beauty. Not to mention, there's free A/C shuttles to and from parking. Floats are all day every day from 10am-5pm. ($20 weekly admission, $25 weekend and holiday admission; equipment rentals like life vests and coolers available too.)

Whitewater Sports (11860 FM306 #2, New Braunfels, TX 78132)
Need a weekend getaway on the water? Whitewater Sports has been offering one of the best tubing experiences since 1972. Float the famous "Horseshoe Loop" on the Guadalupe River every Friday-Sunday this summer. Dogs are welcome too. (9am-5pm on concert days; 9am-6pm on non-concert days. $24 per person for tube rental.)
